I picked up a tin of Peterson Special Reserve 2004 from a local B&M yesterday.
The tin description is: " As always, only tobaccos of perfect quality have been used for this mixture. Black Cavendish and dark Virginia have been refined with long cut flakes pieces. Tasty Burley fermented in oak barrels gives a certain extra to this tobacco. An individual distinctive hops flavor gives an exquisite aroma and an extraordinary taste to complete this blend."
The tin note is raisins. It tastes much like nutty burley, cool probably due to the cavendish, and had quite a bite in the first third of the bowl. I did not really detect any hops flavor, but the taste is pleasant and mild, not peppery, but I could not discern much else flavor wise. Seems similar to Irish Oak, to me at least. The room note is very mild, sort of sweet. If one likes mild aromatics, this would be a good choice. I might try this again a day or two with a beer on the side to see if I can tease out the hops flavor.
