Can anyone tell me the major differences between the 80S shape and the XL15 shape. I was just about ready to pull the trigger on an 80S and then saw an XL15 with a nicer finish and grain. They look the same to me. Any Peterson experts out there that can tell me the difference?

That's a damned good question. Some 80s pipes have a saddle stem, but those don't look exactly like an XL15 to me.

Nobody from the Peterson group cares to weigh in? I have searched the net with no results. The description seems about the same.

I don't have them but I've looked into it before. I think the basic shape is the same but everything about the XL15 is just a bit larger than the 80s. It's a little longer, a little taller, the bowl is a little bigger, etc.

I have an XL15 Kinsale and it is indeed bigger than the 80 which I also have. It is a nicer looking wood and smokes alot better too.
