How can you improve on perfect? Well...you can't.

I have to say - that Peretti's "Royal Blend" is the finest and maybe the pinacle of all English Blends. Rickpal sent me a sample of this and I put in a 4 ounce order today. It has all the makings of a great English. Smokey, chewy - meaning that hit in the mouth like a tootsie pop center, little a butter, salt, leathery, hint of sweetness, hint of sour, incredibly smooth, and absolutely delicious! The overall components are perfectly orchestrated in an aria of a perfect smoking experience. If you love Seattle Club Plum Pudding,Balkan Sobranie, Penzance, Magnum Opus and Black House - you need to try this one. Highly Recommended!!!

Any of you other Peretti lovers out there give me a shout and let me know what other blends we should try.

    Thanks for the review...sounds fantastic!

I also hear very good things about their Blend No. 333 (if you like burley blends)

clano - Peretti's does indeed have stellar blends, and in several genres. For Englishes, it is hard to beat Smith's Own, a robust Latakia. Their Boston Slices (light citrusy Virginia flake) and Cambridge Slices (a flake with a touch of Latakia) occupy my Top100 Cellar. Tashkent is an incomparable Turkish forward concoction, and Oriental No.40, Omega and British Blend are campaigning hard for admittance to the Cellar.

Thanks Guys - I love all well made tobacco so I really don't have any preferences - can be Aros, English, Flakes, Vapers, Crossovers.

I have tried Smiths (thanks again to Rickpal) and like it a lot. Very full bodied and certainly on my list to buy more at some point. I just found that Royal Blend has a complexity that I absolutely love. The Smiths is a very Stout blend that would be great after a heavy meal of "MEAT!"

I ordered samples of Tashkent and B-94 a rum burley mixture. Has anyone tried the Cuban Mixture?

According to Peretti's web site, Royal Blend is "A blend of the choicest matured Virginian and the finest Oriental tobaccos. It contains a high percentage of the finest Yenidje (Turkish) leaf."

Maybe it's just an omission, but there's no latakia listed. And if there's no latakia, can it truly be the "pinnacle of English blends"?

Well, if semantics are your game, than it probably isn't an "English", whatever the hell an English may actually be.

But, it's a damned good - Balkan, oriental, or whatever silly name we Americans sitting behind our computers have come up with to call tobacco.

I've also tried Peretti's Blend D-7485. I remember liking it alot but it's been sovlong that I can't give you any hallmarks. I prefer lighter English blends and it was good as far as that goes. I'm a younger guy and was even younger when I walked into their B&M but I there was no snootyness or pretense and I will always remember that. I'm pretty hyper sensitive to attitudes such as that. My only regret is that I don't live closer than 3 hours to it.

There blend 432 doesn't mention Latakia in it either - but I would eat my hat if it doesn't have it in it. Reminds me of C&D's Craig Starks blend only better. (Note there are few flavors that hit my vital core - maple, coconut are just 2 of them).
