I received 6 GL Pease tins today. I want to confirm what the tin dates mean.
The first 2 are:

061313

091813

These make me happy. This means 3 years old right?
Then these 3:

2 23-16

2 24 16

3 31 16

I guess these make sense too.
But what does this mean?

1217-16

Most of my Pease blends have two stickers on the bottom, one with the date and one with a serial code. It appears that the date tag may have fallen off?

These labels are made with tools that have rotating numbers, so I suspect number in the year portion was just placed on the wrong digit. I'd guess it should be a 5 instead of a 6.
BTW, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE blenders that date their tins.

We will be releasing C&D's Small Batch Time Machine very soon. This should really be a hit with the aged tobacco gurus 8)

I imagine that this tin was from 02/17/16 and the tag gun was set to the wrong date. If I knew the blend name, I could check production records to be certain.

It's supposed to be 1/21/16. I think I know what happened here. Someone mistook the 7 for a / in the setting. This is my best guess anyway based on the Charing Cross production dates I'm seeing The date settings on those guns are very small and can be to misread. Back to the drawing board on that time machine.
