In a previous post I described how I managed to drop a brand new peterson 106 and break the stem. Today I snapped off the cracked chip (leaving a nice hole in the stem) and then glued it back into place. Its not pretty, but it does smoke well...and an irritating whistle that was previously present is now gone. All in all I'm pleased.

Ouch! I would be so PO if I did that.

I have only dropped my Johs pipe once and it showed no signs of damage. Can't say I would glue it as I do not know the proper ways to go about fixing pipes, but I am glad that you are able to smoke out of it now.

Hate when I drop one of my nice pipes. I almost never drop one of my beater pipes use when working in the yard. Glad to hear you got it working though.
