I was getting ready to place a small order with Pipes & Cigars but stopped when I encountered what looks to be higher than normal shipping charges. This cannot be correct! Has anyone else noticed this? $12.15 for economy shipping? The order was for less than 8 oz. of bulk tobacco. Something odd here. I use to pay about $7.50 on the average.

Not sure what's going on with that. Here is a shipping chart for a recent order of mine.

Also ... any thing over $99 ships free so it's good to TAD-up in bulk.

I just placed an order his weekend and mine looked more like cobguys. Maybe their was a glitch on the site or something.

I just ordered from there about an hour ago. It showed me the same prices it usually shows me. I would call customer service like cob mentioned.

Prices from the shipping companies go up every January. I had an internet store for years. They are not making money on the shipping at P & C. If you think the charges are high now, wait until the minimum wage goes up. It makes sense to group your orders so you never have to pay a shipping charge.

I've placed two orders in the last 2 weeks wih P & C one of them being a 12oz tob of Walnut. Both were shipped to NY by USPS Priority for $3.

Shipping is the equalizer for brick and mortar retail with online. Sometimes in a close bidding war,

my local shop can beat the online retailers.

IT must have been a glitch because it's working fine today and now showing the actual shipping charges. Much, much better!
