I'm coming into some extra money, so I had to decide on a new pipe that costs more than 30.00. After some consideration, I decided on a new Ben Wade Town & Country. Here's the link:

I like the shape, the finish, and the price! I'm also going to get another tin of Dunhill's 965 and a tin of Peterson's Old Dublin.

That's a nice looking Ben Wade. It appears to have nice thick walls on the bowl for such a slender looking pipe.

I like your taste. I hope you enjoy it often.

Ben Wade pipes are made in London. Pipedia gives a good history and quotes advertising for Ben Wade pipes in this article:

    http://pipedia.org/index.php?title=Ben_Wade

"The drilling and finishing of these hand made pipes would put many far more expensive pipes to shame. The bowls are carved at the world famous 32 St. Andrews Road, Walthamstowe pipe factory, in London, England. The same factory where Dunhills are made. Every pipe is drilled spot on and exhibits a good blast and all have high quality German Vulcanite mouthpieces. Every pipe is stamped 'Ben Wade, Made in London, England'. The craftsmanship and smokability have always been superb."

I guess they can't be too bad if they come out of the Dunhill factory! Looking forward to smoking some good English in this one.

I have this Ben Wade from the 80's:

It is a big pipe though, so I don't smoke it often, but it is well made.

I am the owner of an estate Ben Wade that is currently in the hands of Mr. Jason Gone for one of his world famous rustication jobs. I really wish I had taken some before pics before I sent it off. It is a nice looking poker that had a couple of pretty serious flaws in the briar that I wanted him to spruce up for me. I will post pics whenever I get it back.

From all reports I have seen the new incarnation of Ben Wade pipes is an excellent value. I am planning to snag one in the future.

If at first you don't succeed you are running about average.
