Stopped at my local favorite B&M. Found out today that he now carries Esoterica Blends and had a nice supply of Penzance in the 2oz tins. Pics are kind of blah!! I have to recal my monitor again.

You know that Secret Santa was for OTHER people, right? Oh well, I guess Santa needs something for his pipe, too.

edit: I also spent $100 on TAD during my Secret Santa shopping.

I wish he did do mail order, sometimes don't feel like driving up there, plus it would be a potential client !

Funny I ended up spending $50 on myself while shopping for the secret Santa. It's very easy to do!!

I should go back and pick up some more of the Penzance tins, since he doesn't have a per customer limit on how many you can buy, so I can spread the wealth amongst the forum members who love the stuff.

He didn't have Squadron Leader, nor did he have Stonehaven (yet, backordered naturally). My wife has been itching to try the SL, and I've kind of been wanting to sample to the Stonehaven.

The Pembroke sounds interesting, but I have so many blends open that it's going to be awhile before that one gets opened.

Why? Just open them and throw them in Mason jars! Then it doesn't matter!

Because I'm running out of room - tins take up a tiny footprint and most get stored in my safe deposit box

Ok, Paul. I have a solution for you. Send me the opened tins and I'll keep them safe for you until you want them back. How's that sound?

    Yes it is sir :)!!

I was at his shop the other day, no intention of picking up a pipe, but this sucker was just screaming my name. And it should be illegal to live in the same area as Mr. Hackert and not have at least one of his pipes...so I had to buy it!

I held that pipe myself and pondered the wife's wrath.... He had three similar shapes at the time. What a wonderful shop, I have to remember to stop by next week for a tin of something. Mel's selection is always full. Was he in or the daughter? Most of the time when I stop by before lunch, there is always a nice guy there with a Navy Seal ball cap. He's always good for some interesting political conversation (he knows my wife works for a politician). And a sample or two of an interesting blend. One of my favorite shops for sure.

Mel was in. but I was in pretty early and no customers were in the lounge.

So I just shot the breeze with him for a good 45 minutes or so (which is very very dangerous, the more time you spend, the more money you spend)

He does have really good selection of tins on hand and now he's even carrying the Esoterica line - I was shocked to see the Penzance tins...I'm not big on Lat, but when I do see Penzance I usually see the 8oz bags.

I haven't tried any of his bulk blends yet, but I plan on going up again soon, he has some of the Christmas Peterson shapes that have sold out elsewhere - so if you're ever there and see a shaved headed dude, with glasses, could very well be me !

I love looking thru his estate drawer, the blue dresser. I've found some nice pipes in there. I wish it were closer, but it is right on my travel route to NJ, so I can stop by monthly. He's good folk. Congratulations on the Hackert, I know you've been wanting one.
