packing method for krumble kake

I'm about to pack a bowl of Seattle Pipe Club's Plum Pudding and am wondering what is the best method to pack this type of tobacco. The three-step method doesn't seem to work well.

Mmmmm plum pudding.
Crumble some up and gravity fill the bowl and pack with your thumb. Check for a good draw and light up.

Yup. That is how I smoke it and it is one of my top 5 tobaccos. Nom nom nom.

Agreed. IMHO, a too tight pack is the biggest worry with blends cut as a crumble cake.

I've always been fascinated by pressed tobacco, flake, plug or krumble cake. I had this fantasy that pressed tobacco could yield an extra-long smoke, but over time I've resigned myself to reducing these tobacco types to pieces that will burn. I rubout flake, dice plug and pull apart krumble cake.
