Over-turned screw-in stems

I have a couple old pipes that have stems with stingers that screw in so that the bit sits at an angle. Does anyone have any info on how to correct that? They're old drugstore pipes that I picked up in box full of random pipes at an antique fair, but I'd like to get them restored one day.

I have a few with that problem as well. Some of them i was able to fix by getting the stinger a little hot and then twisting it back into place.....
however that only worked for a few....the rest are still a bit crooked.
this is a great question though! hopefully you get some good answers.

Sounds like it might be a Dr. Grabow Adjustomatic.
Just smoke it and turn it carefully to align it properly.
