I have a tin of Astleys No. 55 Elizabethan that I received last Christmas. I was hoping to get some opinions, resembles, reviews, etc. I am thinking of what to open next and this one jumped out at me.

I am a big fan of Astleys 109 and 44. It has been a while, but I remember 55 being much brighter than any of the other Astleys that I like, maybe a tad bitey, but that could have just been because I was new to pipes. I do remember that I made a mental note that it was not one of my favorite Astley products, but it wasn't awful either. It is a pure flue-cured Virginia, which will mean that it could stand some aging to drop the grassy notes.
Let us know what you think. I may need to give it another try soon.

I thought it needed some more time in the tin to be more enjoyable.
