I have to agree with the change over from cigars to pipe tobacco. 25 years of smoking just about every kind of cigar, in my later years I'm into not only the flavor and even a more complex pallet selection, but the whole ritual. There's the act of preparing your choice, for me I'll set out different things for to smoke a few bowls while reading something, and then writing about it. Doing me industry networking that is vital. Preparing the music tracks and scripts for my spots in a screenwriters podcast, very excited about that! The process choosing, laying them out, pipe selection, the lighting, tamping and even the cleaning are all... Well for lack of a better word -- centering.
I still have my sticks when my cigar people come over. Having a cave in the house during the winter seems to up my visits lols. So the sticks are now just for the social aspect when I go to the club where I keep most of my sticks anyways. I brought up maybe carrying some pipe tobacco and allowing smoking to the owner and was quickly shut down.
