Well a Ferndown Reo 3* arrived today and got me one pipe closer to the 7 day British bent bulldog set I am working on. When the Askwith arrives I will be up to 4.

That's a handsome group of pipes and one of my favorite shapes. I can't wait to see 7 of those beauties in a row.

It will be a while. Takes time to get them made or to find them.

    Fine looking trio of bulldogs.

I am impressed. My favorite shape as well, and two makers I think very highly of. Congrats. That will be a set to be proud of.

Lovely pipes for sure. You are off to a great start. I see why you will need a nice display rack for them.

Thanks for that, but I have pretty specific idea of what I am looking for. They are British made group 5 bent bulldogs with a tapered stem New.

I'm not sure I could be that committed to a single size and shape. I do not have the discipline. I do collect Charatan extra large freehand straight grains. The easy part is no two are ever alike. I did find a Upshall large freehand that is the equal of any of my selected's. I did notice a special forces emblem. Any significance?

Your newest Ferndown really has appeal. I like the dark stain and bead lines, traditional but distinctive. Love my 'dogs.

Well plans changed as they usually do. I sold my northern briars pipe and got an askwith custom and another Ferndown. Les has four more ferndown bent bulldogs in the works, so my set will be a 7 day set of Ferndown bent bulldogs with tapered stems. It will be a Root with tapered black, Tudor Root with Cumberland band, reo with Cumberland band, a red reo with tapered black, bark with Cumberland, reo with tapered black and silver cap and bark black and silver cap.

It will be a glorious set once complete.

Impressive! I have some dogs, but in the Stanwell 32, Johs, Dr. Grabow, Pete Around the World vein. It is such a powerful shape.

Do you have certain pipes in mind for certain days?

No plan yet for a certain pipe for a specific day. Just like the idea of a 7 day set.

Great looking set of Bulldogs. It looks like it will not be much longer till you complete your 7 day set, good luck.
