I also came home to this! It an English made cane! It's blood red! I've also got a cold steel black thorn coming!

Glad I could help you find a new "Blackthorn", if I get old enough to need something to lean on, I might get one too, depending on how you like yours and if Cold Steel still makes them. Blackthorns are so neat, they almost make me wish I needed one now! At least now if something happends to one, you got a backup, stumbling all over the place is no way to live life.

That red cane looks like total class and I hope that your new blackthorn can become a new family heirloom. I also hope that you mount your family one in a nice frame and hang it on the wall!

Congrats Irish, Congrats my Friend. I dont think you will be able to break the cold steel, but Rangers are a tough lot, and I have been known to be wrong on occasion. :puffy:

From what I have seen and read you will not break the Cold Steel Blackthorn with normal usage as a cane/walking stick...
All the same, I would avoid very cold temperatures with it because that has a propensity to weaken the polypropylene. Again under normal usage it should be fine - just don't whack anything steel or concrete with all of your might on a winter's day! ;)
Good luck with them both.

You need a pair of oxblood boots to go with that cane. I have a pair of Lucchese 1883s that match it but you can't have those! They're my favorite boots!

Irish, that is one sharp cane for a gentleman. Very sharp indeed. I also agree with our distinguished Baron you will need a nice oxblood boot or shoe to complete the "spiffy" and proper look you deserve. If my memory recall serves me well; I believe our fearless leader Kevin is a connoisseur of the very best footwear. I bet he could lend some knowledge on the topic or maybe even more! Perhaps, Kevin can be of assistance. Perhaps? LOL :puffpipe:
