I'm sorry. I've resisted for years, admiring from afar, surreptitiously spec'ing my favourite and using a thousand reasons why I shouldn't commit, but I've finally done it. The beautiful Dunhill 4103 Billiard Bruyere I desired is mine and I LOVE it. I went into the Dunhill store on Jermyn Street in London that I've haunted so many times and walked out with something that will hopefully give me pleasure every day AND outlast me. I'm still breaking it in but the smoking experience is superb. I've got a bent Peterson that has been a brilliant friend, but you realise how limited you were when you smoke a thoroughbred.
A very happy man!

Welcome to the forum Andy. Don't be sorry, Dunhill is an icon of the pipe world and a great smoke too. Consider yourself a lucky man to own one. That must have quite an experience buying your new pipe right there at the Dunhill store. Congrats!

Congrats Andy...my first Dunhill experience was wonderful and exciting also..enjoy it...as you continue to grow in this hobby, I encourage you to research artisan pipe makers....most of my best smokes are from pipe makers who hand carve each and every pipe they sell...welcome to the forum

Congratulations! I have 3-5 Dunhills -- but all of them bought as estates. Not sure I could ever justify a brand-new one, but I definitely admire them. And Andy: You get Double Dunhill Points for buying it from an actual Dunhill store! (Here in the States, as you may know, Dunhill stores don't sell anything tobacco-related anymore.)

Congrats.

There's something special to smoke and own a Dunhill. So much history, and probably the most talked about and admired pipe brand ever. I am lucky to have a few Dunhill pipes that will always be treasures to me. And owning a Bruyere, being their oldest finish and still going strong after over a Century is fantastic. Enjoy.

Appreciate the comments and chain guys.
BOB re the Dunhill store - they have a pipe specialist who's in the shop 3 days a week and offers advice on everything pipe related, from personal styles and tobacco to packing, smoking, tamping &c. Funnily enough I have a lunch just by the Dunhill store on Friday, which also happes to be the next day he's in. I also have a free hour after lunch - I wonder where I'll be going and to whom I'll be talking?!
