I've acquired this sealed pouch of 1-1/4 oz. Edgeworth Ready Rubbed, Extra High Grade tobacco. It has a very tight seal and the wrapper is in a good condition considerating its age. I'm just wondering about when it would have been mfg. I guess the package artwork might help with the time frame in which it was produced but I find very little information on that. I doubt I'll open it for rehydrating though which it would still need.

Holy cow! This is the stuff I smoked back in September 1959 when I first started smoking a pipe. What a treat to see a package of it again. I loved it before I migrated onto other blends, and haven't seen it in… Well, you know how long.
I was just starting college, and I had a bent bulldog and a pouch of this tobacco. I packed the pipe, lit it, took one puff and realized that I would be a pipe smoker for the rest of my life.

Nifty keeno!
Thanks for the nice pix,

that's the trueblue Larus stuff,

definitely pre-1973.
That old Edgeworth is pretty damn unique, molasses out the yingyang.
I consider Edgeworth to be one of our premium OTC's,

real good stuff!
It should have never went out of production,

and it NEVER should have been made in Denmark either.
