I saw on Facebook where the organizers of the New Orleans Pipe Show have announced that there will not be a show in New Orleans in 2016, but it may return in 2017. The post said that the show was profitable, but certain private issues beyond the control of the organizers will prevent them from being involved in the coming year.

That is a terrible disappointment! My best wishes for all who worked so hard in putting on the show last year...

They should consider Lafayette La, good food ,Airport that handles international traffic, laid back Cajun people who love everybody , big convention hall, and racetrack nearby that the non smokies have not spoiled.

Gulf Coast Pipe Show and hold it in Mobile

That was tried a few years ago. It was held a floating casino but it was another one and done show. I hope they find a smoke friendly (its getting very hard) one stop location near the airport. 8O

The people behind the New Orleans are not doing a 2016 show because of the venue but rather because of personal reasons. If you are going to suggest new locations you need to say who is going to run it.

kcghost is correct. The venue is not the issue. Toby Ducote who was the major organizer for this year's show said that we had already been invited back for next year. Unfortunately something has come up that prevents all the planning and work necessary to do a show next year. Hopefully the show will get back on track for 2017.

Our Magic City Pipe Club has kicked around the idea of hosting one in Birmingham. But, we didn't want to kick a dent in our local B&M's business. I've tried to talk The Briary into hosting one, and maybe with more arm twisting, I can get him to expand his in-store event to an all out pipe show.
