The damn ghost in the man cave came to me at night and told me to buy the following...OR ELSE:

Soooo, I figured while I am waiting for the sample of Angler's Dream, it was only fair since I'm partaking in the free offer, to use Pipes and Cigars to satisfy my need of the following:

    3 lovely tins of:

    3 tins of these:

Now I can only hope that UPS keeps up it's recent habit of delivering early instead of their normal (As late as humanly possible) time.

Thanks, I forgot to mention the pipe is a Bjarne - Copenhage Light Bent Apple. The one shape that I like that I don't have in my collection strange as it seems.

The Sweet and Savory is actually my go to blend I love that stuff. I am not good at doing reviews because I don't pick up on some of the subtle nuances (I think still smoking cigs is killing my full enjoyment of pipe tobaccos, fortunately pipe smoking full time now I have really cut down).

But the Sweet and Savory is a VA/Per blend with some turkish tobaccos as well, and the name says it all, it's got this salty/peppery flavor that reminds you of a good steak with a subtle virigina sweetness to it.

Very nice haul, the pipe is just beautiful, and the sweet and savory is on my TAD wish list and after reading your last post might get bumped further up the list.

@pawpaw, lemme ask you this, I know there are blends out there that are high in nicotine (and I'm sure I can search the forums) but was there one you went to as nic fix?

I was actually doing well w/cutting down the cigs until I ran into a bout of nasty cold and then on to a nasty case of allergies, so I couldnt taste the pipe tobacco, so nic fix was cigs...so I regressed a little bit. But I haven't tried a high nicotine tobacco yet.

And you're right, not buying as much smokes opens up the wallet to TAD. I was bored one day and figured each of my current brand has 0.8 grams of tobacco, so just to make the math easy 1 pack is like 1/2 oz of baccy, so 1. pipe tobacco is cheaper and lasts much much longer, every pack I don't but is nearly 2 oz of pipe tobacco that I can buy!

Haddo's Delight and Bayou Morning both seem to have a rather nice nicotine kick for most.

    Nice Bjarne there, Paul.

@damien - I tried the Sweet and Savory on whim, hell, not even that, I got it because I liked the name of it

I think it is worth picking up (well I am biased I have it already), but there is something that just draws me to it.

@bootleg, thanks for the heads up, you just made me happy as both Haddos and Bayou Morning are in my collection from my trip to the B&M yesterday. So I think instead of litting the Haddo tin sit for a little bit, that baby is gonna get cracked open now.

I actually bought 2 tins of haddos (I think it was a GL Pease (but not totally sure) article I saw on this site with a statement that became my mantra...always buy at least 2 tins of a tobacco because 1. you may like it and 2. you never know when it may vanish).

I have so much baccy open now that I was going to let the tins sit for awhile, both look like they were tinned in August. But after bootleg gave his input, figured what the heck...damn sure smells good, feels a little moist though, so Ill let it dry out for a little bit than light it up.

    Hey Paul
+1 on the Bow-Legged Bear for a sweet taste and plenty of nicotine. A small bowl makes for a pleasant smoke and will certainly curb any nic itches.

I'd also forward for consideration 3P's.
I prefer it cubed and again, in a small bowl it makes for a good nic fix and I think it tastes great. Little bit dark and leathery, slight Lakeland floral, which I love.
Plus the time it takes to slice it and cube it keeps you busy for a bit!

    Snus, snuff and briar.
Not much more required in a day.

Thanks sir. The only thing i have to watch with blends like 3 legged bear is they have latakia in them and, unfortunately Latakia triggers a migraine for me...I was excited earlier today after smoking a bowl of Plum Kake last night I didn't wake up w/a migraine...so I smoked another bowl of it earlier this afternoon and I can feel the migraine coming !

That sucks! While Latakia blends don't hold the best room notes, they definitely taste good. Actually, I love the room note of a good Lat. blend. But like you, they seem to trigger migraines for Cyndi sometimes. I usually smoke these on my way to work followed with some coffee.

No shame, I think I actually hi-jacked my own thread since that little nougat of migraine info was in another thread that I started that is, well, now talking about exactly this...lmao. So, sorry bubba and lawrence, this got waaay off topic.

As for lakeland, it is not ringing a bell of the top of my head, so I'm not familiar with the scent.

But like you, they seem to trigger migraines for Cyndi sometimes

Yeah Cyndi commented she has the same problem on my other thread...friggin sucks. I was starting to try Latakia blends and was getting to the point that I liked them, it had taken me a while before I realized it was the culprit behind the migraines.

But I have other migraine triggers I was able to work around...dairy products and chocolate especially...I love cheese and there was now way in hell I was going to stop eating it...but I had to find my tollerance between just enough and too much.

I got to the point where, yeah I can't eat a pound of cheddar ilke I want to, but I can hold my own. I'm hoping the same can be done w/the latakia blends.

I've never known what constitutes the scenting agents that create the "Lakeland" smell taste, but it's prevalent in many of the G&H blends and to a lesser degree SG. Lakeland in that both blenders are historically from that ?area, district? of England. Many folks refer to it as being soapy or perfumy. Me, I don't get that. More of a floral note.

Now my duh moment. G&H Dark Birds Eye, a little, Dark Flake Scented for sure. Petersons Irish Flake has it as well, and SG 1792. Some examples, there are certainly more.

    Anyway, now I'm rambling...

I have a Bjarne volcano that smokes like a dream, when I have trouble with a particular tobacco / pipe combination, I end up going to my Bjarne, which is what prompted me to try this one.

Oh wow, I'm going to feel the wrath of hobbie, I mentioned a pipe that I have and somehow I don't have a picture of it...damn, I'm going to have to rectify that!

Anywho...the latakia induced migraine and the man cave being a lil' humid to dry out the Haddo's tonight, my pipe smoking is done for the evening. The new Bjarne will be here sometime tomorrow and the game plan is to try the Haddos in that.

I will definitely let you know how it goes since this is a different shape.

Got the new Bjarne today...after I stupidly forgot I had to shipped to my PO Box at the UPS store.

Loaded it up for with a maiden voyage of GLP Haddo's Delight...delicious!!! And the Bjarne is smoking just as wonderful as my other Bjarne.

I just hate the break-in period - don't know about ya'll, but seems like until I get a cake build up I constantly do re-lights. But once it's broken in, I think this will smoke like a dream
