Newly Refurbished YB Jumbo Pipe

I've got to make room in my shop for a recent influx of old briar for restoration, so I finished up this old Yello-Bole Imperial. This is one of the better looking pipes of this kind I've come across with sharp stampings and a smokey looking grain I like. I'll put leaf and fire in it tomorrow.

Very nice. It looks very much like my grandfather's YB. No idea of it's age but certainly no later than the early 1950's.

So I fired up the pipe and spent an hour with it out in the shop. It's got a good draft and the tobacco burns evenly and cool. You really get a mouthful of flavor with these big pipes.
It is going to need a salt an alcohol treatment because my PS Balkan Supreme was being frightened out the bowl by some lavender scented ghost.
