Things Ive learned since starting to smoke a month ago:
1: Duck your tongue. if your a fast smoker like me (came from cigars) tucking your tongue down and to the left seems to prevent the awful tongue burn.
2. Retrohaling- best way I found is to puff a good mouthful, exhale all breath out nose. inhale through nose, then exhale all through nose. once you figure it out it becomes routine, if you want..
3. Latakia I don't think there is enough!!!! LOL love that smokey heavy flavor.
4. Deertongue is your friend! Even though im a latakia freak deertongue seems to taste like good cigars.. My experience was pipe tobacco Crooner.. seems very similar to Perdomo lot 23 with a a little sweetness at end of bowl.
Again, Im a newb. but just my insights so far!

: Lot 23 doesn't have a vanilla floavor, IMO.
