While reading James Michner TEXAS I came across a family traveling to Texas in the early 1800s crossed the Sabine River and stopped to inspect their corn seed , in the bag was 2 plugs of foul smelling Tobbaco as described by the woman to ward off weevils. Interesting, that women have been complaining about smell a long time. :laughat:

Women has better smellers than men I've learned. I worked with a lady who could smell foul odors many days before others. Even a dead mouse.

City pigeons collect discarded cigarette butts to use in their nests; somehow the butts ward off mites and other parasitic bugs.
