I have been watching some pipes go for good prices from a ukrainian carver named Roman Sobczak on ebay. His page is called "house of pipe." Pretty good briars, a few pair wood and some acacia/oak hardwoods. Here is an acacia pipe I picked up for $15.

It looks like he has some cool stuff, and the price is certainly right.
How does it smoke?

Never experienced acacia, but I have three pearwoods that are all excellent smokers. Have to give these a look.

That is a very sharp pipe. The grain looks a bit like olive wood. I like it!

You can get a fine rotation for modest cost, not just with these pipes, but with similar quality products at moderate prices. You just have to shop and learn about what you're getting. Often if you do, you will get well above dollar value.

Thanks guys! Yes it smokes well. 9mm filter so either go filterless or buy the adapter at pipesandcigars.com. It does have a nice grain. One thing I noticed is you do get a oakey type smell in the tobacco the first few bowls which is to be expected. I think it added to the aroma personally. Also they are a bit lightweight, so be careful of smoking to fast! In all I like it alot. Roman at House of Pipe sells mainly Polish carvers. All there stuff looks pretty sweet! Going to try and win one of those briars now!
