Just picked up this pipe from an antique shop for about 20$, says 'hand carved algerian briar' on the bottom of it. Thoughts?

It's a nice long-shank dublin with a great looking rusticated finish. Good score! I hope it smokes like a dream. :puffy:

Unfortunately no markings on the band or anywhere else, but certainly smokes well! Just tried my first bowl of Dunhill Nightcap with this and it was fantastic!

I have 2 of those Algerian pipes, although diff style. Decent smokers mate but tend to run a bit hot. They are quite well made an look fantastic, as does that one you picked up. Enjoy

Nice little light weight rusticated Dublin, lithe and handy. Good price. Seems to be in good shape. I think you'll enjoy it.

Whether it's original to the pipe or not, the band was done well. No clue on maker, but Algerian briar was very highly regarded. Some companies (Edwards and others) would only make their pipes from Algerian. Nice score...always nice to find one in a junktique.
