   The MacQueen pipe that I want was in stock on pipesandcigars.com. As soon as I placed the order, I noticed that it went into 'sold out' status, so I must have bought the last one. The one I picked up is the 'Ranger' model. Sure beats waiting 3 months for a factory order!

   I know it's all the rage, and I'm happy you got the pipe you wanted, but TBH, I can't get excited about churchwardens. No surprise that with LoTR and The Hobbit, everybody wants one now.

   The Hobbit movies certainly made them popular, but this is the only MacQueen that I really like. The look of it really speaks to me. I hope that it just doesn't start making me hear voices! Does anyone have some experiences to share about MacQueens such as breaking in, overheating the cherry wood bowl,etc.?

   Honestly I just got a churchwarden as a gift and love it! I can't wait to sit around a fire while camping and smoke this bad boy. Congrats on the ranger

   I have a MM cob with a churchwarden Forever stem and like the way it looks and feels...not too long as to be cumbersome and in my way. This one will be about the same length. I don't chew my bits, so I shouldn't have a problem with the wood stem. I'm wondering how the cherry wood bowl will hold up. I can get an hour out of a briar bowl of tobacco, so I'm not a puff-o-matic...I'll post some thoughts on it after I start to break it in.

    Congrats - a finer looking pipe. I like churchwardens, even though I only have one and I don't really smoke it that often. Go figure.

    I went ahead and ordered the Halfling direct from MacQeen before reading a thread that noted the long wait time. I ordered it back in January and it won't be shipped until March 27th! I hope it's worth the wait cause that's pretty ridiculous of a timeline. Note to self.....read the forums before ordering pipes when you are a noob such as myself!!!!!

    Not all retailers carry them and when I saw that smokingpipes.com had the ranger, I bought the last one in stock after counting my money and coming up a financial 'smoke-and-mirrors' story to tell my wife! I just cruise the retailers often enough to catch this one. Don't beat yourself up too much...I would have eventually ordered it from MacQueen.
