Many years ago I enjoyed a number of Wellauer blends that friends would bring over from Switzerland. Latakia Mixture was my favorite.
Recently, I came across a few new tins. Sometimes revisiting an old favorite is disappointing (changes in recipes, components, even my own tastes). This was not the case with Latakia Mixture. It is just as good as I remember it.
I'm half tempted to dig out an old tin from the cellar and compare them side by side if for no other reason than to see how they've changed with age. On the other hand, there's always some chance the exercise will diminish the joy I found in the new tin. So I'll probably hold off on that....
