I've just received my first two falcons, estates won on eBay. The first is a US made model with a "1" stamped inside the well. From what I've been told, this is a mid 30's early 40's model.

The second has "P P 4" inside the well. From what I understand, 4 means a 60's model, but the PP has me baffled. Any ideas?

Looks like the style of Falcon my Father smoked. I have no idea about how you date these pipes. I think they first showed up in the 1960s but then I could be wrong - there is a paper back book on pipes which was a very involved sales :) brochure for Falcon Pipes published in the late 1970s. It had a picture of Pitt and another politician circa 1790 on the front cover.
