I know i dont qualify yet but if i get on the list now I can enjoy a delightful extra Christmas present.
I hate to do it, but I'm thinking at 20 people, I may have to stop adding people until it comes around again. There are guys who have already been waiting a while and 2 weeks at 20 people is the better part of a year!

Enjoy. I didn't take a picture of what I added but here's what I put in:
Key Largo by G.L. Pease - I still haven't tried it yet, I cracked the tin to contribute to the box lol
Black Spice by Altadis - Tastes like allspice and nutmeg
Chocolate Mint #105 by McClelland - It's very subtle, I was hoping for more mint but that didn't happen.
Cinnamon by Peter Stokkebye - Smells really nice and tastes like cinnamon. Very one dimensional but a good all day smoke.
I don't remember if I put in some Shortcut to Mushrooms or not... I hope I did.

It is a bit overwhelming...I didnt know where to start so I lit a bowl of 7 seas black to help me out..forgive the lighting, Im converting my garage into a gameroom and the lighting issue will be adressed after the bar is finished (was gonna be this weekend)

ok I've been working odd hours but I think that's over, samples are in and about to pack it up, again. Anything changed? ie. the list..If not it'll be on its way to an okie by tomorrow or Saturday. Its been really cool, thanx for the opportunity.

The box is in TX still but its scheduled to be picked up before 12 today. Sorry I had it a few extra days.
My contributions were a MM complete with a sort of psychedelic acrylic stem made by briar bird, some millionaire blend, some midnight gold from sir Elliot's, lane very cherry, squadron leader (wasn't a lot but all I had, since there was none in there yet) and pa soft vanilla. It may be a good idea from now on, to post the tracking number for the box once we ship it. Of course, you can truncate personal information, but It would help us stay on top of it. The PO does screw up, after all.

I have been getting a lot of requests for joining the box pass lately. Here are the basic rules. Please make sure you qualify before you ask to be added. Thanks!
Here are the basics:
This Box Pass is a box that has a large variety of tobaccos for you to sample. It is sponsored by the members, not Pipes Magazine. If you want to be included, you must meet the requirements below:1. Must be a member for a minimum of 4 months
2. Post Count must be at least 100 posts
3. Have the financial resources to spend $15-20.00 on shipping the box to the next person.
4. Live in the U.S.A. We hate to do this but it's gone to Canada before and while it made it safely, there is always the possibility of Canadian Customs keeping it. We'd rather be safe than sorry.
5. Give your: name, screenname, address, email address, and phone number to baronsamedi (he will keep your phone number and not put it on the list).
6. Keep the box no longer than 2 weeks.
Do not sign up if you do not have a stable address, will be moving soon, going to school out of state, etc. You need to be an active, established member on here to show that you will be sticking around, and are trustworthy. The other two boxes that were "lost", were the result of not having the above attributes.
There will be a list which needs to be kept on top of the tobacco with all the names of the recipients on it. Please be sure to keep it circulating with the box. It will have all the information you need on who to send the box to next (excluding their phone number, which is kept by baronsamedi). Please take any samples that you want, but add your samples back in.
Try not to take a whole 4 ounce bag, the whole purpose is to have a large variety of tobaccos for everyone to try. Enjoy!

@ PawPaw, we actually had 2 boxes at one time, but one mysteriously vanished. Another member suggested starting a box pass for noobs, which as long as it complies with the buy/sell/trade rules of the forum is a good idea, but I got my hands full with this one. It is a great box, though, and worth the wait when you do receive it. I was a bit overwhelmed when I opened it.

A box for the newbies was previously shot down, as it was just too much going on, been there, tried that. If things are kept in baggies, there can be a tremendous variety all contained in one box, the tins take up too much room. It should also be mentioned that taking samples by everyone, should keep the contents reasonable. If there are small baggies that you would like to keep, then just replace it with another new sample of another blend, as ideally you should be able to get the box after a year goes by, and there should be mostly new blends for you to try.
