Today I found this pipe it is stamped GBD in a oval with PEERAGE underneath it. The other side is stamped lodon england 1444. It also has GBD in a brass on the stem. Any information would be great! thanks!

It's not a pedigree it's a peerage. I have looked around a lot and can't find much about the peerage line just others asking about it.

Another GBD mystery. I always say with the metal rondell and "London,England", those pipes were made before 1981. (give or take!)

I think the 1445 is the normal or common poker shape for GDB, the few I have and ones I can remember seeing have saddle stem. The difference in your 1444 is that the shank tapers with the stem from the bowl.

Here's a guess, mixed in with some data.
For a number of years Comoy had a pipe called the Peer. It disappeared from the fancy brands list in the latter fifties. In 1960 Comoy lists the Peerage for the first time; it stays listed at least through 1962, probably longer.
A few years later the Comoy factory is shut and Cadogan production consolidation begins across affiliated brands. At some point combined production results in cross-utilization of stamps.
So here's the guess: your may pipe date from that era; the approximate 10-15 years between the onset of the mfg consolidation and the elimination of the brass rondelle...

Thanks guys for the response! This is a great place! Alot of information I did not know! This explains the similar finishes one comoys and this Gbd I actually purchased a Comoy guildhall large billiard 186 from the same pipe rack, the bowl is the same size as my sav 703 ks! They have the same contrast stain.

I like how there can still be a mystery even with the wealth of information available to us today. Thanks again guys for helping me narrow this one down! Can't wait to put a bowl through it later on today :puffy:

Nothing new to contribute at this time except to add my compliments on the purchase of a nice pair of classic pipes.
