EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) - Bob

I accidently found my pipe got some burnout on the edge like this.

Anybody can tell me why, because I don't remember when I got this issue, just found it when I take a look at my pipe ? What can I do to prevent it happend again on my another pipe ?

And that doesn't look like a burn out as much as charring due to excessive flame onto the top of the chamber. But will we ever know??
