Yesterday I went to IKEA and purchased an ALEX 5 drawer unit on sale for $69. My cellar and pipe collection isn't very large, so it works for me. Next I plan on lining the bottoms of the drawers and possibly some sort of dividers for the pipes.

    Drawer 1...my rotation of pipes.

Drawer 2...some estate pipes I picked up cheap.

    Drawer 3...

    Drawer 4...

    Drawer 5...

Awesome set up. The handle holes should also allow the pipes to breath a little bit.

Cool. Will you be drilling holes for ventilation?

Okay, but how long did it take to assemble?

    Btw, that's a great setup.

Sure, the shelves cost $69, but the amount of jewelry and flowers you'll have to buy your wife to make up for the inevitable IKEA argument has got to be closer to $500

    Love it!

No, the handles are open slots for your fingers (.75"x4")

About an hour and a half. Not as bad expected.

Went to buy the $69 cabinet and walked out spending just over $200 and then $96 for lunch at "The Big Bowl".

    edit...thanks for the kind words.

Wow ... only $69 for this little baby? I gotta get me one of those ... right now I store tobacco in my desk, and pipes in my living room shelves between books.

The sale ends on 2/18...normally $89.

NPOD id just like to say I got that reference! hahah

Nice cabinet, small, neat and tidy. Maybe some of the that rubbery shelving stuff to keep the pipes from sliding around and getting scuffed?

    Looks great!
Functional and minimalistic and that's one of the things I like about IKEA.
Their practical and tested no fuss-designs.

I have a small dresser used for tobacco storage, it's from the Hemnes series.
    The black-brown variant of course.

Thanks. Great idea...I was thinking felt or fabric.

Thanks. I was keeping everything in wooden cigar boxes. This is much better.
