Well here is a pic of my new commission that was just finished and I should get in a few days. I can't wait to try her out.

Metalwork is tricky on pipes. It can look tacked on. This is among the finest I've seen, perfectly joined to the briar and stem material. To have a pipe this substantial and massive come in at 1.8 ounces is incredible. This is superb work, craftsmanship and design. Bravo.

mso489, these were the pics Mr. Layton sent and I was really pleased to say the least. I had originally thought to also have a copper band on the stem but deferred to Clark and to say the least his design was spot on. The Copper ring sets the pipe off and gives it a focal point with out being gaudy. I wondered how he was going to do it and he sent me pics the whole way, I was amazed at how it was done.
I can't wait to actually get the pipe and take some better pics.

That is a great looking pipe. I have never heard of that carver before, I will have to keep my eye open for his work. Congrats on an great addition to your collection.
