Nice work, a fine looking pipe. How does it smoke?

Pretty cool looking! Mesquite aroma would probably compliment some Frog Morton very well.

it actually smokes better than i really thought it would for my first pipe attempt. think that has a lot to do with taking the time to make sure the tenon and draft hole line up and are about as close to the same size as i could make them. as for aroma i used boiled linseed oil on the outside so mostly just smelled the oil for the first few smokes... will say that the mesquite flavor that came through until the cake built up wasn't bad with the blends i have been smoking lately.

Nice work! How many bowls have you smoked out of her?

I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Looks good, nice job. Did you use a stem for a meerschaum with the white plastic fitting? If so, did you thread the shank for the fitting? Or did you press fit it?

It's a meerschaum stem yes, and I threaded the wood for the mortise. Seems to work well with the mesquite and I like the fact that it's not plastic on wood when taking off or putting on the stem.

I haven't kept track on how many bowls I have put through it, though its typically at least two a day then the night next to the dehumidifier in my storage room to dry for the next round.
