Latest pipes I have purchased and altered in the last week.
Picked up a John Sterling from ebay (unsmoked)

And a couple custom bamboo shank Country Gent cobs, a couple new stems for cobs I had already, and a bamboo extra long tamper for use with a MacArthur MM Cob.

Congrats - nice pipes. And even tho I am not a cob smoker, those are nice looking cobs you picked up.

Good ones, One! I'm not familiar with the John Sterling, but I'm a sucker for lighter finish colors and that's a beauty. I'm particularly drawn to the Country Gent with the abbreviated shank, band, and black stem...That looks really sharp! Hmmm...giving me ideas about doing that to a cob now. [:puffy:]
The only information I found on the name John Sterling is that John Sterling (Export brand) pipes are made at the Chapuis-Comoy factory in France. This particular pipe was made in Holland.
The cobs with the bamboo shanks were the 2nd & 3rd bamboo shank Country Gents I had the seller make for me. The first one has a nice long churchwarden stem that I use only for the Hobbit's Weed blend.
