My Kai Neilsen

While Tonni Nielsen's pipes are fairly well known, pipes are also being produced by other family members. Here's a picture of my Kai Nielsen, a handmade pipe from Denmark featuring a Cumberland stem. I was able to pick this up as an estate pipe from SmokingPipes.com; otherwise, I don't think I could have afforded it! (It smokes wonderfully!)

The grain on that is gorgeous!
As long as I got a pipe full of baccy and a nose full of snuff, I'm a happy camper
Cigarettes are an addiction, cigars are a hobby, pipes are a religion

I was eyeballing that pipe and was totally hooked by the grain and the stem. I did not know that Kai is related to Tonni as I have certainly heard of Tonni and his work. Congrats on a beauty, glad to hear it is smoking great as well.

I'm not familiar with the brand, but it's a beautiful pipe.

Tonni is not related to Kai.
Kai is the son of Viggo who has passed away. Kai is also the brother of Jorgen.

Ah, thanks for the clarification!

I have a Kai Nielsen (unsmoked), but I haven't tried it out yet. Yours is a real beauty, though.

That's a great looking pipe, congratulations!

Never smoked one, never had one, never seen one, but I certainly would love to have that one mate. It is a real beauty. BTW, why does it have the Dunhill White Dot on the stem?
If at first you don't succeed, have another bowl.

It's not a White Dot, nsfisher. It's a gold metal dot.

Sweet! I'm a sucker for Cumberland stems too. Enjoy.

Pitchfork:
Mine is dedicated to Penzance. I recently had to switch some pipes around, because I realized that some of my favorite pipes were Penzance pipes and I was shortchanging my other styles! But this one remains in the Penzance rack, alongside two Lane-era Charatans, a Radice, an Ascorti, a Castello, and a Dunhill.

Pack and lite, hope for no bite. Tamp and Dottle, Pour from the Bottle. Sit back and smell, Ah..All is well"
