Wow, I can't believe my two commissions, one with Lonestar and one with Rad Davis, completed within a day of each other. I love saddle bits and this one should be great for clinching. What a great week!

    Dimensions are:

    Overall: 2 x 6

    Bowl: 13/16 x 1 3/4

    Weight: 50 grams

Man cannot survive except through his mind. He comes on earth unarmed. His brain is his only weapon. But the mind is an attribute of the individual, there is no such thing as a collective brain. The man who thinks must think and act on his own. The reasoning mind cannot work under any form of compulsion. It cannot not be subordinated to the needs, opinions, or wishes of others. It is not an object of sacrifice. ~ Howard Roark (The Fountainhead ~ Ayn Rand 1943)

Congratulations on your new pipe. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.

A side note. Harris will be very happy for you. He enjoys Rad's pipes a lot.

Wow! A commissioned Rad Davis pipe. First one I've seen on the forum.

I have just emailed him about commissioning a pipe for myself.

Yours is beautiful. Is it just what you asked for?

    Congratulations!

    Have you smoked it yet?

I love saddle bits too, BEAUTIFUL pipe! I like how dark the cumberland is. It contrasts well with the light finish

    That Rad is awesome Chris!

I first looked at it and thought, "Huh? A black stem?"

Looking closer, I was comforted in the fact that it is, of course, and beautiful and sultry cumberland. Oh yeah

Love that one man. You don't see a cumberland saddle bit very often, and this one looks top notch. The blast is impeccable as always.

It's just what I asked for Allan. It ships tomorrow so I will have it next week.

Thanks for the great comments guys. I too like how the dark Cumberland contrast with the light tan finish.

Chris, it is a beauty. You know I love it because it is the twin of my last Rad commission. I know for a fact you are going to love smoking it. It came out perfect in terms of size and weight didn't it? Congrats on your new Rad, I am sure it will not be your last.

I have two Rad Davis pipes, both in a light tan sandplast. The last Rad Davis that I bought was a billard with a saddle stem like yours but a little shorter. Rad carves great pipes. Enjoy!

Yes, it certainly did. When I saw yours I really fell in love with it so I had to make that my first commission with him very similar. It was as simple as emailing Rad a pic of yours and asking "can you do something like that?" Not too much thought involved as yours was the perfect size, shape & weight for me and soooo beautiful.

You certainly picked a great looking one for your first Rad. The first time I saw one of those in his gallery, I told myself I had to grab one. The one I saw had a tapered stem, but I like the saddle better.

Well folks, I made it home and smoked my Rad for the first time today. Everything that Harris says about them is no exaggeration. I am more than satisfied. This one is definitely a keeper!

It's a good thing there's not a commandment "Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's pipe" or I'd be going straight to hell.

Congrats gw that is a beautiful pipe.

Chris, glad you love it. I know that I talk up Rad's pipes a lot but I honestly have not smoked a pipe that is better than his. I am sure this will not be your last.
