OK, so it's a cob. But I love all 16 of my cobs and I wanted to try one of these Reverse Calabash cobs for well, two years now. So when Marilyn at MM sent me an email saying they finally started their limited run, I had to get one. I'd actually forgotten about it. 8O

Anyway, I haven't smoked it yet. I gotta plug all the typical MM gaps where the stem enters the bowl with carpenter's glue. I've done that with every single cob I have and never tasted anything at all. I figured since I'm already a broken down old guy who can hardly get out of his rocker, what's a little carpenter's glue gonna do????

Make sure you wash your overalls and empty the beer cans out of the truck bed before stepping out with this one.

Jay, I will indeed. No beer for the celebratory first smoke. I think something like a finger or three of sourmash.

What was I thinking, I don't use carpenter's glue. I use Lepage wood filler.

I've never figured out what the extra chamber on a pipe is supposed to do, but if it is Missouri Meerschaum then it must be right.

I hear there's no way to replace the original "chintzy" plastic stem on these cobs. Is that true?

Your Reverse Calabash was numbered with a wider marker. I wonder the change in pens? It's just a thought. Nice looking pipe. Congratulations on the pick up!

I purchased two of them.... I should've checked the specs closer. I already know I'll never smoke them because the stems appear to be garbage. But I'm glad everyone digs them. It's why Baskin Robbins sells more than vanilla.

The second chamber is to cool the smoke. I would really doubt that the MM one is large enough to make a difference.

I got #120 of the light ones. I should take a pic, but I'm so busy right now it'll have to wait. Heck, I don't even know what to use for a background.

My light colored one is #328. While I agree the chamber is small, I think a larger bore plug could be made that would seal further out on the cob with a nicer stem that would make the chamber much larger.
