Hello good people of the world!
When I first started I thought it was to kind of pipes.

Straight (boring) and bent (awesome).
So my first pipe was of course bent.
The last year I've started refurbishing pipes. And suddenly I had a lot of pipes.
Enjoy!

My first pipe.

I bought it when I was 17/ 18.

And it broke pretty soon.
I fixed it 13 years later. (Last month).

Two years after I went to Krakow, in Poland.
Here I discovered Mr. Brog. Beautiful, thick pipes. I they were cheap as well.

Nice for a young boy.
Edit: The squat tomato on the top is my favourite pipe.

Some years later a friend of mine started studying in Krakow.
Here is the result of that trip.
As you can see, I still didn't care for shapes. Just that they where bent.

In 2017 I went to Gdansk on a business trip.
I really wanted a Churchwarden. And I wanted to test a small apple, to see how they worked.
At the store they had a calabash I might have fallen just a little bit in love with...

Now I started getting interested in what other kind of shapes were out there.

I started to read all kind of different internet sites to chec what else was out there.
And o'my what a wonderful world.
I went on a hollyday to Tallin, Estonia. But all the pipe shopes were closed. :crying:
The internet then "told me" to buy used pipes and refurbish them.
The first set cost me about 110 dollars.

I found a single pipe which was beautifu in its complexity.

You have to screw the stem on.

I bought it for 30 dollars. But I couldn't help my self.

Next set was from a old lady.

I'm not 100% sure which pipes came in this lot, and which came in the last lot.
But I think I got it right.

On of the pipes have a ringt with 14K on it. Real gold, is a nie thouch.

And the grand finale!

Bought 50 pipes for 150 dollars.
I really wanted a diplomat. I think I have 3 now. :D

A lot of these pipes are either "Countryman" with the nice Elephant logo, "Tower" pipes or Butz-Choquin.

Thank you!
This is such a fun hobby.

My problem is I thought: I will refurbish these. Perhaps keep a few, and sell the rest.
But I don't think I want to sell any of them.
Btw: Did you mean that you want an other picture, or that the colection should grow more?
My next goal is to get a genuine Gourd Calabash. :D

I just made it larger so it was easier to see.
Selling them is something I have thought of doing, but could never bring myself to do so in the span of three decades.
Gourd Calabash pipes are great smokers, but if you get a new one, don't feel let down because the taste will be muted at first. Once the gourd is saturated with tobacco oils, it will really shine.

And yes: The squat tomato is a Mr. Brog. Nr. 48.

But they don't make it with the carvings any more. Or so I think.
It fits my hand perfectly. It's a bit heavy on the draw. But that's due to the 9 mm filter.

Thank you for the Gourd tip.

I hope to get a used one. And perhaps buy a new meershaum inlay, if it's cracked.
And thank you for enlarging the picture. Smart! :D

It's a bit heavy on the draw. But that's due to the 9 mm filter.
If you ever want to change that, adapters are made for them, though I do like the 9mm bore on my Vauen Auenland pipes.

I love seeing pipes all laid out on the table together. Thanks for sharing.
