I grew up listening to these guys when my dad took us on long family road trips. Waylan all the way. But can't help listening to haggard when he comes on either.

Yeah Toker, I grew up on this stuff too. Our house had country blasting from a console stereo consisting of a turntable, an am-fm radio and an eight track player. My mom bought all her 8 tracks through Columbia house tape club. On sundays, we listened to one hour of regular polka music, then the following hour we would listen to Spanish polkas, and not a soul in our household understood spanish.

I'm sure I'm going to lose some music cred for this, but I'm not a fan of either. Or of country music in general.

Theres cowboys and outlaws and rightguys and southpaws, good dogs and all kind of cats. Theres dirt roads and white lines and all kind of stop signs, but I stand right here where I'm at. Cause I wear my own kind of hat.

Theres two kind of lovers and two kind of brothers and two kind of babies to hold. Theres two kind of cherries and two kind of fairies and two kind of mothers I'm told.

What can I say?

Gotta go with Merle on this one.

Merle Haggard.
Nothing against Waylon, but unlike him, Merle was the real deal when it came to the "outlaw" part.

You are correct. Normally that shouldn't really count for anything, but in this case it might!
