Last year in Sept. 2012 there was a massive auction of old tobacciana in Norfolk England. it's great seeing this stuff, many 1ounce packets still wrapped in cellophane, many cutter-top tins that looked well preserved, and most of it sold for farthings on the pound considering what the current market is...
Lot#637 sold for: £30.00

You can still look thru the auction archive, most the tobo stuff starts at lot #500

...here's a news story about the auction:

Sutton Windmill and Broads Museum collection to be auctioned off
...and perhaps this ebay seller attended the auction because he's been selling lots of old packets:

look at these beautiful unopened packets!

Wow. Since they are museum pieces, they may have been properly stored, depending on the original packaging. I'm gonna steal those pics for Slow Puffs!

Anything that's tinned should be smokable, without further ado, I would think. Some of the other stuff probably needs to be rehydrated.

The 5 tine of Three Nuns in lot 500 is worth more then what the whole auction sold for.
And then there's Dunhill Baby's Bottom. This stuff is really rare. Murray's never blended it - you had to get it from the Dunhill store in London!
