This is pipe number 4 to get restored from the Mother Load lot I got from my Father in Law. It seems the chap who owned these would just put the pipes back on the rack after smoking and not even clean out the bowl. It had lots of old tobacco and mold on top of that. I reamed this one down to the wood and gave it a good internal scrubbing with Everclear. Then stripped the old wax and grime, re-waxed, polished, deoxidized the stem and polished it up. This is a great little cherrywood poker shape Dunhill size 4. Can't wait to smoke it!

Here is a couple of before shots.

And here are the after restoration shots.

Lord, that's beautiful.
Dave, this windfall couldn't have happened to a better guy.
Watching these old soldiers come back to life is spectacular and, because of what happened to you, I'm just that more of a believer in divine providence and karma.
So, what have you done for your f-i-l lately?

Dave, it takes a master not only to bring out the beauty of the pipe, but to recognize that that beauty is locked up inside waiting to come out. Well done, brother!

Isn't it amazing what people will do (or not do) to their pipes? Seems incredible to us pipe worshipers.
Great job, Dave.

Great Job! That is one of my favorite Dunhill shapes, and you did it justice!!

Those Cherrywoods seem like they are made for English/Balkan blends...

I've got two, and they just sing with GLP Abingdon and Charing Cross.
