Ah gotcha. I read it as only having one pipe, now I see it means only one Boswell freehand. Gotcha. Either way I feel for ya. Pretty new pipe and stem broke already eh? Kinda weird no?

It happens. Since you have plenty of pipes, you could do what I do which to store them up until I have a four or five to send in which can take years but when you send them out and get them back, its like Christmas!

I won a Peterson Supreme with a broken stem and sent it to Mary Ann Keller, 208B Evergreen Circle, Tobyhanna, Pa. 18466. mak11@ptd.net She did a great job as it is a perfect fit and looks just like the original--only without the break and oxidation. It was gone less than two weeks and much less expensive. I will send her my next problem.

I would give the Boswell's a call, they are great people and do some really nice hand-cut stems, on that freehand I see perhaps one of their twist-type lucite/pearlized stems

The language used by some of you guys reflects your ignorance and total lack of etiquette. You probably don't even realize
how you embarrass yourselves and reveal your substandard upbringing. And such expressions over a broken stem? What do you
spew forth when things go really badly? Wow, has our society become so dissipated that we tacitly accept such usage
    in public forums and publications?

I think it's a matter of what is public decorum. When in mixed company a general rule is to go the route of the least offensive for whomever has the highest standards.

While my mouth probably wouldn't be the friendliest if it happened to me, I'd make sure it was in better shape by the time I started telling the story to others...

Oy vey....I struggled for quite some time on whether this should be addressed via PM or public post, and decided on the latter.

    1. The thread title was in asterisks so as NOT to offend people. Choosing to venture into such a thread should imply you might be in for something raunchy.

    2. If someone's language is offensive, in any situation, handle it one on one. That's the mature thing. Generalizations that insult people's intelligence or upbringing are absolutely uncalled for.

    3. Cursing exists, and has existed, in both upper class and lower class, higher education and no education, right wing and left wing. Also, this site if for pipe smokers, meaning we expect you to be old enough to see an R rated movie. Therefore, you should be able to handle some exposure to language that some of us prefer to use in times like this, even if you prefer not to partake.

Lastly, in regards to the OP........That f***in sucks balls man!

To address all opposed to my title...

Those are the words that I used when it happened, I apologize if you are offended by the use of asterisks. You go buy a pipe thats at the to of your financial ceiling, that you immediately are proud of and break the stem off after two days. Tell us what you say. I am not being mean but this all seems very narcissistic of you. I did censor it. I figured i would have more people who understand that feeling. It sucks.

To address all who have either agreed with me, disagreed with those mentioned above...

Thankyou very much, that was the avenue of thought that I originally intended, and I sincerely thank you for your support.

If you have any problems with the title of my post, or the content of it, feel free to send a message to me. I AM an educated individual and I will be happy to civilly discuss any any breach of moral code that I may have caused.

And please, if you would like to attack my upbringing because of a censored profanity, you truly may have a mental condition called narcissism. I have done many studies on this condition and it is somewhat treatable through psychological therapy

Apparently, no one arguing has ever bothered to pay any attention to any thing Kevin has said about proper or acceptable posts and that goes for the mods as well. If they had, the title of this thread would have been changed.

I think it would be more of an issue of arrogance, if the assumptions were presumed true, and not so much narcissism.

Freedom of speech doesnt exist on a privately owned forum. If it needs to be explained to you as to why this is, I'm sure you can find an adult to explain it to you.

Completely disappointing. I'm just hoping a friend of mine, whom Cyndi and I just recommended to the site isn't reading how y'all have your bristled pipe cleaners stuck where the sun don't shine.

Over a tiny bit of language?! So the topic could've been changed...The rest of the language wasn't even on the bad side of cursing. There's just no sense in the rest of this.

there has been quite a lot of bitching done about this sort of thing lately (over the last few months, really).

There are no hard and fast rules.

From what I observe, males are choked up tight on profanity.

Females are given free rein to discuss and comment sexually, as long as it is about their breasts, or the breasts of other females. And males are allowed to comment on female breasts.

Not that I have any real issue about the latter rule. It just doesn't work well in tandem with the former.
