The earlier thread's shots were neither comprehensive nor well done, and I woke up today thinking that the pipe---and Chris---deserved better.
So, here it is again, with better lighting, sharper focus, all angles, and a button close-up. Enjoy. :D

An absolute stunner. That is the kind of pipe to build around. What are the dimensions, George?

Chris puts a lot of his pipes on Facebook and I salivate over every one. I don't know if any other maker can approach his aesthetics and shaping. The dimensions and finishes of every one is simply a stand out. I have only held one Asteriou in person (Neill's Rhodesian) and I didn't want to hand it back. You chose well on that one! 36 grams - perfect!

The original discussion about Chris A. and this pipe can be found here:

(I regret splitting the threads---the pics in this one should have just been tacked on that one---but it's too late now.)

Spectacular pipe. I saw a prince shape of his, the nicest pipe I have ever seen.

Beautiful classic shape with very well balanced look and excellent grain, may you smoke it with many fond memories.
Chris has a lot going for him with his pipes, aesthetics, balance, workmanship and fabulous smoking qualities. Here is one I collaborated with him on and it weighs 32 grams.

I love billiard shapes, and that one is amazing! Almost too pretty to smoke...
Funny you say that, because it's been three months and I haven't smoked it yet. I figured the reluctance is connected to my perfection-chaser personality. I spend so much time trying to achieve perfection that when found "in the wild" I want to preserve and protect it.
If not that then I can't explain the reluctance. 41 years and hundreds of pipes, including 125-year-old ones with the maker's handwritten stamp still in the bowl, and I fired them all up without hesitation.

Conservative and classic lines, pretty wood and a race car finish. If you get tired of it send it my way.

Amazing pipes, both of them. The billiard has such an ample bowl at a really light weight, which suggests the briar is well-aged. The grain is class A. The bamboo on the fishn' pipe is really worked out, intricate but integrated with the pipe's design. That's some accomplished work.
