Hello everyone, I hope you're all well.
I recently acquired an old meerschaum pipe with a chewed up stem. My initial intention was to discard the broken amber stem and to have the pipe restemmed. However, I soon discovered that the amber bit was glued in place to the shank. I didn't try to force it out nor will I lest that I should break the pipe. Therefore, I was hoping that some of you might suggest renowned pipe repairers that are equipped to handle such a case.
Kindest regards.

Are you certain the stem is glued in place? That would be most unusual.
Perhaps try popping the pipe in the fridge for a few hours to see if that frees it up.
Regards,
Jay.

Briarville is the way to go! And, never, EVER, put an amber stem in the freezer! Amber is a brittle material, and putting it in the freezer will increase that brittleness. The stem will shatter when it's twisted.
