I have an estate meerschaum lined Hardcastle. It had been restored prior to my receiving it, but being new I have allowed a cake to build. should this be treated just like a meerschaum and wiped out after each use. if so what should i do to clean the bowl or should I send it to a professional.
Thanks.

i have read where as the cake will enhibit the coloring of a meershaum pipe. however i see no problem in cleaning out the inside of the bowl after each smoke in a meerschaum lined pipe. good luck too you. i think rothnh advice is good, go with it.

Yup. I also have a meerlined Hardcastle and it is pretty good smoker. The simple maintenance stated above should keep it in fine smoking condition for you mate. Only problem I've had with mine is it likes to run Hot on certain tobacco's.
