Guys, I need your advice. Whenever I go out I carry a 5 cigar travel humidor, my pipe case (holds 2 pipes, lighter, tamper, etc) and usually a couple of tins. Its a bit awkward walking around carrying this stuff.
What do you use to transport your gear? If the Army&Navy Stores still carried military gear I'd head there but those days are long gone.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

For a day out I have a pouch with a pipe compartment . I don't usually haul along more than that.

If at first you don't succeed you are running about average.

As I have the time and opportunity to provide choice of Pipes and
blends, a leather duffel carries more than I need these past few years.
The Pipes, tobaccos, cleaning supplies, books and snacks I pack along
with me give me hours of pleasure, so much so that I might not say more
than a few words all day.

    For a day outing..
Leather roll up with no more tobacco than I plan to smoke. (back pocket)
    Lighter, tamper/dottle digger. (front pocket)
Pipe either in my shirt pocket or clenched.

Sounds like you could use a leather vest with customized pockets just for your smoking needs.

Thanks all. I do use a vest in the nicer weather for the tools but the leather duffel sounds like a nice solution.

I just use an over the shoulder briefcase but a regular leather one would work.

For something no frills and that won't get you funny looks, how 'bout a backpack? By the time I was in high school, they were standard gear and some are really nice.

Ankle Pack http://myhorse.com/ankle-pack.html way cooler than a fag bag , I mean fanny pack .

Nothing wrong with carrying a backpack or a messenger bag. When I'm out riding my bike, I carry a backpack with a ton of stuff in it. For a short trip to the store on my bike, a messenger bag is a must or a single strap back pack - helps me carry what I need or am planning to take home.

I would check out one from Amazon, like this: http://www.amazon.com/CLASSIC-MESSENGER-Heavyweight-Canvas-School/dp/B001F4OKYM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1285750696&sr=1-1

That messenger bag looks just right and the price is very reasonable. Thanks.

papipeguy. Funny you start this little thread. Last night at the legion someone refered to my pipe bag as a man bag.I wanted to karate chop him but since he was twice my size, I showed him what was in my man bag and he was quite impressed with my meer. Made a new friend.

Good for you. After all, we are here to educate the uninformed.I know exactly what you mean; which is why I asked for guidance. No foo-foo stuff like the "men" in Europe tote about. I'm going canvass. Hard to pick on that.

I've been picking up backpacks of all sizes to help carry things when it's too hot for a nice jacket, but during the colder months I usually have a hoodie to carry most of my things to big for pants pockets.

As far as pipe gear I have a simple leather zip-up pouch that holds about an ounce and one pipe plus tools. I keep my tobacco is a plastic bag to counter act the zip-up not having an air tight seal.
