Does anyone make a special meal for superbowl, or do you just go with the usual, sausage, chicken, burgers, beef...
Just wondering?

I always have a spread for my superbowl (ROLL TIDE) Always make a bacon weaved thing stuffed with deer sausage rolled up cooked on my smoker over apple chips. Sometimes with peppers, sometimes cheese, sometimes both.
We do a big pot of chili, and grill some dogs & brats. Nothing fancy. Some folks go all out for the Super Bowl.
I don't even watch it, certainly won't be cooking anything special for it. Got fed up with organized sports about 25 years ago, haven't watched more than a handful of games since (usually either the pro bowl or a college game around the holidays).
And really, sports are for playing, not so much for watching.
We make a stuffed sausage croissant and then some rum blondies for desert
I'll probably just have the game playing in the background while I work in the shop. Depending on the weather I may put some ribs and chicken out on the smoker.
Won't be watching that fiasco laced with human error. Might make Whoopie with my wife though.

Might make Whoopie with my wife though.
Sound like a great idea,..............uh my wife, not yours.

Variety is the spice of life.

I'll be making snoring sounds...waiting for pitchers and catchers to report.
Hobie,
I was waiting for the old..."hey, whats the matter with my wife...she not good enough for you, Martiniman." But yours was just as good! hahaha
We always get together with friends to watch and laugh at commercials. Since Michigan is not conducive to grilling in February, we do a potluck.I know I will take my very popular sloppy joes.
Actually Jud, sloppy joes during the super bowl sounds like a GREAT idea. I may have to do the same.
Thanks. I'll just make 'em up and haul 'em over in the crock pot.
Who doesn't love sloppy joes
That's a good question. I can't afford to make my spinach dip ... it's like $20 in ingredients. Will probably make guacamole.
I'm not sure if I got lucky or prognosticated this super bowl, but last week I made a friendly bet that it would be the 49ers vs. the Ravens. Should have bet money.
I live 45 miles southeast of San Francisco, I was at the Walmart today and it's Super Bowl sale city there.
this actually ought to be a good match up. The Niners have the offense going for them, the Ravens have Ray Lewis and his defense line.
Now, Crabtree ... do you feel good about beating a fake rape accusation, or what?

I made this graphic for my Super Bowl Party at Midtown Sundries. It's an awesome sports bar and what's really cool is that it is in the North lobby of my building. All I have to do is press the elevator button to get there and back.
Nice graphic Kevin!
MikePhilips, I hear you. I always try to get my friends to toss around a football or play softball but they would rather eat and watch it on tv.
Jud- we always watch the commercials more than the game. Especially since we work in the industry. We want to see what the competition is producing.
Oh, I might make some of my dill dip, too, if they need dip. It's a great veggie dip.
We'll watch the game, but will be mostly hoping for a good football game. Since we live in Detroit...
The Superbowl is a great excuse to cook something and hang out with friends. We are planning to head across the street to our neighbors to hang out, watch the game, and eat!! I will be making chili with Italian sausage and hamburger.
Of course, for my family, the Daytona 500 is a bigger event
Jason
I'm going fishing for trout that day. If we are lucky I will be putting some trout in the smoker that evening!
