Makeshift Ashtray - Lodge Cast Iron

I love Lodge Cast Iron. Here's my current ashtray.

Of course, I must be careful not to damage the pipes when I set them in it, away from the ash. A gentle laying down suffices.

Do you have to season it before you use it, and is it ok to use soap on it?

That's a great idea! I'm a big fan of Lodge and other cast iron cookware as well so I would appreciate that for sure. Got my wheels turning now. Would be great for when I go camping.

cosmic...best to go with no stick aluminum if you want to use soap and then no worries about seasoning it either. lol
