Magic Eraser is...magic! I have an estate pipe that had heavy dark scorching on the bowl's thick rim. I couldn't even scrape it off. When I used ME with some elbow-grease and persistence, the rim is now spotless.
However, I've learned that ME will obligingly remove the original stain, and so I'd like to "re-stain" this pipe. My question is, what stain would I use to replenish this old pipe? Or, should I just use carnauba wax on the bowl?
Thanks!

Leather dye seems to be the most used coloring for Custom pipe makers. Be sure to get alcohol based as it flashes off quickly and gives better results in my opinion. On some bowls that I have had to top I have gotten by just giving the raw wood a wipe with olive oil.

Thanks, unclearther --
Where might I find some alcohol-based leather dye? Is that something a hobby store would typically carry?
