A question for you Buck, do you have a tough time getting the lil abrasive sleeve on the rubber mandrel on the drememl ?
I tried removing the rubber from the mandrel and still had a tough time getting the sleeve on.

they can be tough. i wet the rubber sleeve when putting in on. make sure you loosen the screw on top to help get it off and on.

I haven't yet attempted to carve a pipe of my own, but your post has gotten the juices flowing for a winter project. Thanks.

Buck, I found a u tube video on rustication of a Blakemar.

He uses a plain 2 fluted drill in a jobcobs chuck in a lathe to rusticate a pipe, interestin. Then after staining he coats it with Mylands transparent polish. after a dry then biffs it with carnuba wax.
