Pipe #36 - The Sunburst
This one is pretty self explanatory. How a piece of wood with this nice of grain lines can have so many pits is a travesty! I tried to do it justice by carving in areas that had the most and deepest pits, but still letting the spectacular grain show. The stem got a bit too narrow at the bit. I got a little carried away following the taper and failed to notice. Seems comfy enough in the mouth, maybe not a full time clencher. I'll be revisiting carving techniques in the near future. Only have 3 sand pit riddled algerian blocks left!
